Seniors pull off a great prank!

The Class of 2013 surprised us all today with a Master Mine. They had decorated the Upper School as a giant mountain, complete with a forest. Inside this mountain were a series of mine shafts and tunnels. Very creative!
Some of our miners outside the mine.
Believe it or not, this mining hospital room is actually Elise's office. Quite a set-up.
Here, you can see Annie coming out of the forest. Other miners are digging for gold.
Sadly, some of the miners were dealing with black lung disease. They had to be carried to the hospital room.
Welcoming miners. Thanks, Seniors! Your prank was lots of fun!

SUMMER VENTURES HONORS
Congratulations to two of our students who were accepted into the Summer Ventures Program for this summer: Josh McClain and Abe Eichner. Summer Ventures in Science and Mathematics is a cost-free, state-funded program for academically talented North Carolina residents who have demonstrated interest in science and mathematics and aspire to a career in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics). The program brings rising juniors and seniors together in a residential setting for research and intensive study. The program is currently hosted at four campuses of the university system—Appalachian State University (ASU), East Carolina University (ECU), North Carolina Central University (NCCU), and University of North Carolina at Charlotte (UNCC). Congrats to Josh and Abe!
